Mambedi Country Lodge wins 2006 ETEYA award
Mambedi Country Lodge and Conference Centre has scooped the 2006 Emerging Tourism Entrepreneur of the Year Award (ETEYA). This was announced by Moeketsi Mosola, CEO, South African Tourism, at the World Travel Market (WTM) in London, on November 9.
Strategically positioned along the banks of the tranquil Mambedi River, in the heart of the Limpopo Province, Mambedi Country Conference Lodge has the combination of African bush charm with the practical conveniences of a modern day conference / accommodation facility. Mambedi is a truly environmentally friendly facility, not only in the way it has been designed to blend in with its lush environment, but also through its carefully managed operational processes.
The ETEYA first runner up prize went to Nelly Mashinini, owner of Linga Longa, a four star graded guest-house in Mpumalanga, while Mike Bobby, owner of Kwa-Eden, a self-catering and conferencing establishment in Johannesburg walked away with the second runner up award.
The winners received R50 000, R30 000 and R15 000 respectively, which will go towards the growth of their inspiring enterprises. The cash prizes were, for the fourth year in a row, sponsored by one of South Africa’s leading financial institutions Absa Corporate and Business Bank.
