A cruise passenger is suing Royal Caribbean after breaking his pelvis in an onboard bungee trampoline accident.
The passenger, Casey Holladay, was onboard a Mariner of the Seas cruise to the Bahamas last month when he tried out the new bungee trampoline experience, called Sky Pad.
He jumped 10 times before falling 20 feet, crashing to the ground.
His girlfriend filmed the incident and shared images and footage on social media.
He is suing the cruise line for $10 million.
"I just felt the momentum release from my body that I wasn’t being held by anything anymore," Holladay told news station WTVJ. "When I hit all I really remember is the hit and the noise and the fear."
The cruise returned to a Miami port so Holladay could receive treatment for a dislocated shoulder and surgery to repair his broken pelvis, according to WTVJ.
He spent nine days at Jackson Memorial Hospital and is still recovering.
"My life got changed without me having a say," he told WTVJ. "I am fearful that I am not going to be able to enjoy the day-to-day like I’m used to."
He filed a federal lawsuit earlier this month against Royal Caribbean seeking $10 million.
Royal Caribbean said it does not comment on pending litigation
"We operate all our ships safely, professionally and responsibly," a spokesperson said.
