Manchester-bound plane evacuated over bomb scare
A Ryanair plane bound for Manchester was evacuated amid reports of passengers behaving suspiciously.
Fellow travellers reported hearing the suspects discussing a ‘bomb’ and arguing in an airport toilet just ahead of boarding, at Rygge airport, near Oslo, Norway, late on Sunday afternoon.
The captain was informed, the aircraft was evacuated and searched, while two passengers were taken in for questioning,
A bomb squad searched the aircraft but found nothing suspicious and police later tweeted an updated saying the two passengers had been discharged.
"After questioning of witnesses and those brought in, the police have concluded that the situation is a result of a misunderstanding," the police said.
A replacement flight was operated from Rygge to Manchester at midnight on Sunday.
