Mass evacuation ahead of super typhoon

Authorities in Japan have told 500,000 people to evacuate as super typhoon Neoguri heads towards the island of Okinawa.

The first super typhoon of 2014 poses a threat to life, with winds of 160 miles per hour which could cause 46-foot-high waves.

The storm, which is being predicted as one of the worst in decades, is expected to reach mainland Japan by Wednesday.
