More passengers opt to fly with budget airline

EasyJet carried 6% more passengers last month than in April 2015, but it’s load factor was slightly down.

In total, 6,369, 877 flew with the budget carrier in April, up from 6, 006, 371 a year earlier.

However, its load factor slipped 0.4 percentage points to 90.8% for the month.

For the 12 months ending in April, its passenger numbers were up 7.4% and its load factor was up 0.5 percentage points.

EasyJet will announce its financial results for the first half of the year to March 31 on Tuesday, May 10.
