Navigator of the Seas cancels February cruise
Royal Caribbean has announced Navigator of the Seas’ first sailing following a multi-million dollar upgrade has been shelved due to delays to the work.
The ship will now resume sailing on March 1 with a nine-night Caribbean cruise.
Royal Caribbean said the upgrades to outer decks were impacted by ‘poor weather conditions’ in Freeport, Bahamas.
"Although it is important to complete the ship on time, it is most important to ensure that we deliver 100% on our promise. Any decision that disrupts our guests’ vacations is a difficult one to make, and we realise this is disappointing news.
"We are providing our guests with compensation for their cruise fare, prepaid onboard amenities and airline cancellation fees," it said in a statement.
Guests who had booked for the cancelled February 24 sailing will also get a credit for a future cruise.
