Nepal tourism officials have moved to again reassure the media it is fully open for business post earthquake.
The Nepal Tourism Board spoke of the ‘myth versus reality’ perception regarding tourist facilities and infrastructure more than a year after the devastating earthquake.
At a media briefing during the PTA Travel mart in Jakarta, Nepal Tourism Board, led by CEO Deepak Raj Joshi, said only one trail was damaged in the quake and all UNESCO heritage sites are open as normal.
"All roads and major infrastructure are intact and operating at full capacity."
The NTB is also seeking to diversify its tourism products in addition to its core business in adventure tourism and trekking.
Cultural activities and tours, wellness, sports tourism and the MICE sectors are being actively marketed.
The country’s two major source markets of China and India are also being heavily targeted again ahead of the peak travel season in October.
