African safari specialist Bench International has released a 36-page brochure which details a new range of volunteering vacations with programmes in Kenya and Tanzania which concentrate on community, wildlife and environmental projects.

Options involve two week and one, two and three month packages in both countries for Gap Year participants aged between 18 and 25 and 14-day tours for families and people aged 26 or over.

The activities are available year round and include accommodation in a mixture of basic but comfortable traditional thatched bandas or tented units.

The packages include local Swahili lessons, a choice of regional familiarisation trips and cultural visits.

Volunteer tours are also available in Uganda.

Organisers Camps International is widely recognised as a global leader in its field and has been involved with projects supporting more than 35,000 people, built 30 schools, protected more than 50,000 hectares of the environment and planted 650,000 trees.
