New senior roles at Choice Hotels
Choice Hotels International has expanded its senior global team with three new roles.
The appointments have been created to help ‘capitalize on market opportunities and accelerate and deliver on its aggressive international brand growth plans, with a particular focus on Europe’.
Carl Oldsberg becomes vice president, international operations, taking responsibility for directing franchise services, sales, marketing and distribution.
Until recently, he was VP revenue and distribution for Nordic Choice Hotels.
Reporting directly to Mark Pearce, senior vice president, international, Oldsberg will be based at Choice’s corporate headquarters in Maryland, US.
Meanwhile, Max Cergneux joins from Marriott International to become senior director, international investment and portfolio management.
Based in the London office, and also reporting directly to Pearce, he will be responsible for growing Choice’s international portfolio.
Finally, Guillaume Filly has been promoted to senior director, European sales and distribution.
Filly joined Choice Hotels in 2011 as sales director for France, Switzerland and Portugal.
Still based in Paris, in his new role he will lead Choice’s pan-European sales and distribution efforts across eight additional markets including UK, Germany, Italy, Czech Republic and Turkey, reporting directly to Oldsberg.
Pearce said: "Our strategy remains to grow and expand our portfolio throughout the UK and Europe both through organic growth as well as new development opportunities through investment-led deals, multi-unit partnership and strategic partnerships. I’m delighted to have these three senior leaders on board to lead our efforts."
