Royal Caribbean International has recruited its third senior European executive from outside the cruise industry.

Michael Zollo starts next month as EMEA marketing director following a career with Cadbury Schweppes and Kraft Foods.

He joins senior vice-president EMEA Susan Hooper and UK managing director Robin Shaw, who were both previously with Avis Europe.

Mr Zollo will be responsible for strategic marketing throughout the region, including electronic distribution, CRM, brand and strategy development, according to the cruise line.

Ms Hooper, who joined last summer, said: “Michael Zollo will bring a fresh and dynamic approach to our marketing efforts across the region.”
