Seattle’s second airport Paine Field has finally got the green light to start operations.
It received a final environmental impact approval from the Federal Aviation Administration and will officially star flights on March 4, 2019.
The start date had been held up by the partial government shutdown which caused launch airline Alaska to push back the start date and reroute passengers via Sea-Tac Airport.
Alaska Airlines will operate 18 daily flights from this airport to Portland, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Orange County, San Francisco, San Diego and San Jose.
On March 31, United Airlines joins Alaska with four daily flights to San Francisco and two to Denver.
Both airlines will operate Embraer 175 jets.
The airport is located just 40 minutes south of Sea-Tac in Everett, Wa.
