Passenger arrested after bomb threat to London bound flight
A booked passenger on a London Gatwick bound flight from India was arrested today after a bomb threat.
A 29 year-old man was detained at Cochin Airport. The threat turned out to be a hoax.
According to authorities, a man named Suhaib called in the bomb threat to the Air India call centre in Mumbai.
He was arrested when checking in for the flight.
‘’He has been handed over to the police for legal action and further,” an airport official said.
Air India and the airport were quickly alerted to the threat and a full sweep of the aircraft’s cargo hold and cabin was carried out.
A bomb disposal team was sent to the airport.
No evidence of a device was found.
The plane was cleared to fly to London as scheduled.
