PlacesToStay.com seals Nouvelles Frontieres deal
Online private rate hotel booking programme PlaceToStay.com is to supply hotel inventory to TUI-owned French operator Nouvelles Frontieres.
The FEXCO AllTravel arm will make more than 25,000 hotels available to Nouvelles Frontière’s 210 travel agency locations in France.
The deal initially provides for the online distribution of PlacesToStay’s European and US city-centre hotels to Nouvelles Frontières’ A La Carte upmarket tour operation business. A La Carte customers tailor-make their preferred holidays by choosing particular flights, hotels, car rental, tours and other travel products from a brochure which generates a fast-growing part of Nouvelles Frontières’ annual revenue.
Inventory access and booking will be provided through a customised online web link, connecting agents direct to participating hotels’ reservation systems and letting them book securely in real time and provide electronic confirmation. FEXCO collects and pays “higher-than-average” commission in return.
FEXCO AllTravel business development and distribution director Tim Wright said: “This deal with Nouvelles Frontières is a coup for FEXCO as it gives us an entrée to one of Europe’s biggest travel organisations.
“The TUI Group and Nouvelles Frontières are both investing heavily in online channels and services, and our record in online distribution of private rate hotel inventory means we are a natural partner to help them achieve their Internet ambitions. The agreement means Nouvelles Frontières’ agents can service the personal flexibility needs of their A La Carte customers.”
Nouvelles Frontières group tour operating managing director Jean Marc Siano said: “With FEXCO and its flexible online technology, we will be able to extend hotel choice and pricing for our discerning customers while at the same time, increasing our productivity and enhancing revenue through FEXCO’s commission policy.”
