Ryanair offers foreign exchange
Ryanair has started offering foreign exchange services on its website following a deal with a like-minded online firm.
The no-frills airline has teamed up with CheaperCurrencies.com by offering a link to its website under the heading “travel money” on the Ryanair.com homepage.
CheaperCurrencies.com does not charge a commission but charges £5 for special delivery by Royal Mail. Web users can pay for their currency by credit card, cheque or bank transfer, and it is delivered to their door within 48 hours of fund clearance. The company does not offer a buy-back service.
CheaperCurrencies.com claims to offer better foreign exchange rates than its competitors because it keeps its overheads low by operating 100% online.
Spokesman Iain Macauley said: “We’re a very tightly run operation with low overheads and focussed efficiencies built in from the very star. What greater confirmation is there that we’ve got the best travel money exchange rates on the market than for Ryanair to allow its customers to book a flight and then get their money from us.”
