Ryanair surpasses 10 million passengers at Bournemouth Airport
Low cost carrier Ryanair this week celebrated the milestone of serving 10 million passengers at Bournemouth Airport.
The airline began operations at Bournemouth in 1996 as the airport’s first low cost airline.
Since then, it has grown its Bournemouth Airport presence from a single route to Dublin to now offering 20 routes to nine countries across Europe.
Ryanair has two aircraft based at Bournemouth which it says supports 600 local jobs, including 60 aviation jobs.
This summer is Ryanair’s largest flight schedule ever at the airport, with over 120 weekly flights, including three new routes to Agadir, Lanzarote, and Nantes.
Ryanair’s Head of Communications, Jade Kirwan said: “This significant milestone showcases Ryanair’s continued growth and investment at Bournemouth.”
