MP John McDonnell will visit BA cabin crew today (Thursday), the first of three days of industry action.
Len McCluskey, general secretary of Unite, the union representing 2,900 of the cabin crew, will also join strikers on the picket line.
The 72-hour strike follows a two-day walk-out earlier this month by BA’s mixed fleet cabin crew who are locked in a dispute with the airline over their pay.
MdDonnell, whose constituency covers Heathrow Airport, will meet crew at Bedfont and Feltham FC social club tomorrow morning.
BA has cancelled a small number of short-haul flights from Heathrow ahead of tomorrow’s walk-out, but it said it will operate 99% of its total schedule and promised all passengers will get to their destinations.
It said all Gatwick and London City flights, and all long-haul flights at Heathrow, will operate as normal but a ‘very small’ number of short-haul flights will be merging at Heathrow.
"This will means some customers will travel slightly earlier or later in the day than their original booking," it said.
