Plane maker Boeing has secured a big order with India budget carrier Spicejet for up to 205 new jets.
SpiceJet said it has agreed to buy 100 new MAX 737 aircraft with an option for a further 50.
The announcement also included 55 jets already on order which combined is worth up to $22 billion.
It marks a big turnaround for the airline which was forced to ground planes after running out of funds just over two years ago.
"This is an extremely competitive market. What this aircraft order does is enhance our ability to be competitive in the future as it helps us reduce costs," said Spicejet chairman Ajay Singh.
"We are now in a very good position to expand our network and operations, which includes both domestic and international routes and destinations.
SpiceJet is the fourth largest carrier in one of the world’s fastest growing air markets, behind IndiGo, Jet Airways and Air India.
It is also a coup for Boeing as most carriers in India favour Airbus jets.
Boeing forecasts India will still need an additional 1,850 new aircraft within the next 20 years to meet demand for air travel.
