Spotlight on Arab Spring at ATM 2012
Middle East tourism ministers will, for the first time, come together at Arabian Travel Market 2012 for a special session that will focus on driving the region’s tourism agenda.
The high profile forum in Dubai on April 30 will pick up on feedback from regional tourism leaders at last year’s World Travel Market in London, which highlighted increased co-operation and the expansion of tourism products as key drivers for future tourism growth.
"The Arab Spring has had an effect on the whole world of travel, and while we are passing through difficult times, they are also exciting times as tourism is the oil that never runs out," said UNWTO secretary-general, Taleb Rifai, speaking at WTM.
Topics to be discussed include the main challenges and opportunities that changing market conditions are generating
Among those listed to appear on the panel are the tourism ministers of Egypt and Jordan, along with high-ranking hotel and tourism executives
