Startup California Pacific Airlines unveils inaugural flight schedule

Regional airline startup California Pacific Airlines has announced its inaugural flights schedule.

Based at McClellan – Palomar Airport in Carlsbad, California, CPA will begin flying to San Jose, CA a dozen times a week, and four-times weekly to Reno-Lake Tahoe on November 1, 2018.

Two weeks later it will then start three weekly flights to Las Vegas.

CP Air will operate 50-seat, Embraer ERJ145 aircraft on the routes and has plans to acquire E170 jets in the future.

"This announcement marks the culmination of a multi-year effort that will bring significant convenience in air travel between San Diego’s North County and the top western-region destinations," Ted Vallas, chairman of California Pacific, said in a release.

"Our initial set of cities will address the needs of both business and leisure travelers from nearby McClellan-Palomar airport."

California Pacific Airlines is operated by Aerodynamics, Inc which has a valid FAA license and has been operating for decades.

California Pacific has been planning to launch for years but was held up by the FAA rejecting applications for an air operator’s certificate several times.

"We are extremely pleased to be one of three launch airports for California Pacific Airlines and the convenient, nonstop service it will offer to travelers between San Diego North County and Silicon Valley," said Mineta San Jose International Airport’s director of aviation John Aitken.
