Survey reveals travel worries
One in five holidaymakers find arranging travel insurance the most stressful part of organising a holiday with a further 24% experiencing worries about what to pack, a survey has revealed.
Research carried out by the Post Office also found that while 70% of parents worry about accidents overseas, barely one in ten regard insurance as a priority.
“Preparing for a family holiday can be one of the biggest stresses of the year,” said Post Office head of travel services High Stacey. “Yet as a house-proud nation we are bizarrely more concerned about cleaning the house than organising adequate insurance.”
The study also showed marked differences between men and women – with woman more prone to anxiety.
One in five are concerned they don’t know enough about their holiday destination, compared to just 16% of men, while 29% of females worry about what to pack. Less than two in ten males fret over their holiday wardrobe.
However, the survey revealed that more men find the journey to the airport a stressful experience with 22% saying it is the worst pre-holiday chore, compared to 15% of women.
