Survey says summer season looks hot
A new survey from MMGY Global shows favorable feelings toward travel, and more travel being planned than at any time since the recession began in 2007, among both leisure and corporate travelers.
The latest travelhorizons™ survey of 2,300 active travelers, released yesterday, hints at a strong summer travel season.
Business travel intentions jumped five points in the February survey, with fully 20% of all respondents intending to take at least one overnight business trip in the next six months. That’s up from 15% in February 2012, and 13% in February 2009.
"This increase may signal the beginning of a robust recovery of demand for business travel services, barring any unforeseen disruption of the continued recovery of the U.S. economy," the survey said.
Of the six factors tracked in the survey, the perceived affordability of travel was the biggest factor in pushing the numbers up this year.
