Visitors to ancient Hindu monuments in Indonesia are now required to wear a batik sarong.
The new policy, affective immediately, embraces the central Javanese temple sites of Prambanan, Borobudur and the Ratu Boko Palace.
Officials say the move reflects UNESCO’s policy for the preservation of cultural heritage.
Thousands of sarongs will be available for visitors to each of the sites.
In 2011 an estimated 200,000 people visited Borobudur, while 150,000 entered the Prambanan temple and Boko Palace.
