The Strand to score for Brisbane

MELBOURNE – Brisbane has a new riverside events venue – The Strand at Rugby Quay.

The 485sqm banquet and function venue, opening in March, can seat up to 320 guests banquet-style, and 550 guests for cocktails.

Bill Brassington, Queensland Rugby Club director of sales and marketing, said the A$13 million Rugby Quay development on the Brisbane River would also include a signature restaurant and club members bar and restaurant.

The Strand events centre, he said, was perfectly placed close to the major riverside hotels, and adjacent to river transport for group transfers.

Brassington said the venue was already attracting strong interest thanks to its facilities and “stunning river views”.
