New US passport applicants will soon be able to select their gender option. Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced that along with "M" or "F" passports and other documents will have an option to nonbinary, intersex and gender nonconforming people, and will no longer require a doctor’s note.
Blinken said adapting sysems is ‘technologically complex’ and would take ‘extensive system’ updates." However, he said the State Department will try to offer a tempoarary workaround for the time being.
