They’re back: flight delays.
Delays eased after 9-11 when travel plunged.
But now the percentage of late departures and arrivals among US carriers nationwide is on track to become the worst year since 2000, according to an Arizona Republic analysis.
Sixteen percent of flights departed 15 minutes or more behind schedule this year, up from under 13% last year.
Arrivals were worse, with one in five landing late.
Airlines blame a surging number of passengers, busier skies, a stretched air-traffic control system and poor weather.
Passengers are complaining less because of tougher airport security and cheap prices, said the newspaper.
