EDITOR’S NOTE
Although the Office for National Statistics recently revealed
how devastating 2001 was for tourism, there have been a number
of research reports released this week that indicate that
confidence in travel is returning.
According to MORI polls carried out in September, November and
January on behalf of ABTA: “The number of holidaymakers who said
they would not travel to a country perceived as risky after 11
September attacks has halved”.
Earlier today Airtours released its annual general meeting
company statement saying that its expects customers, in all
markets, to book their holidays later this year, and that the
company is “cautiously optimistic” for the year ahead.
Best wishes
