British consumers are set to give the package holiday industry
its ‘roughest ride yet’ according to research by strategy
consulting firm Latitude.

Five leading hotel chains have joined forces with technology
company Pegasus Solutions to create Hotel Distribution System
(HDS), a new venture that will market hotel rooms over the

7. Team SA completes package deal for UK travellers

Team SA – South African Tourism, Southern Africa Tourism
Services Association, the Tourism Business Council of South
Africa and South African Airways – has unveiled a holiday
package, ‘Opportunity SA’, which will be marketed to travellers

8. Thousands more jobs to be axed at BA

British Airways is to axe a further 5,800 jobs in addition to
the 7,200 it has already announced in a bid to return to
profitability.

British Airways is to cut its Fresh Approach payment levels for
European and domestic flights and to make it cheaper for
customers to book those tickets on the internet than with
agents.
