A book – called 25s: Britain & Ireland – is published this week along with a wider selection.

Series editor and Rough Guides’ founder Mark Ellingham said: “When we think of holidays, a lot of people immediately associate this to going abroad. But, believe it or not, you don’t actually need to jump on a plane to have an amazing time.
“To celebrate our 25th year, we wanted to share insights and ideas to inspire the ultimate travel experiences.
“We thought, why create just another guidebook – why not something entirely different? This is how we got to 25s – a one-off series of 25 magazine-style books that really capture the excitement of travel – and the excitement we had felt when starting the series. In essence, these are a collection of ideas, enthusiasm and inspirations. The ultimate travel checklist.”
Rough Guides is also publishing 25s: Ethical Travel, highlighting 25 ‘ultimate experiences’ for the socially and environmentally responsible traveller to enjoy while having a positive impact on the people and places they visit.
