Two years since opening an office in Toronto, wholesale travel broker Tourico Holidays reports growth of 65% in room nights sold in Canada.
It now has more than 750 hotel partners based in Canada and plans to expand its Canada focused team to support continued growth.
"Tourico’s recent success in Canada can be attributed to the big travel suppliers in the market recognizing the effectiveness of our global distribution network," said Deborah Kenton, regional director in Canada for Tourico Holidays.
"We’ve seen a number of large Canadian suppliers come aboard in recent months – exposing their inventory to agents around the world that are fielding immediate interest in travel to Canada."
Tourico also cites its strategy of boosting the North American sales and technology team to provide adequate support to partners, and much improved customer service efficiency.
"Prior to opening our Toronto-based office, we still relied heavily on the worldwide client base to sell product for our Canadian travel suppliers – but we lacked the local, hands-on support that can be the difference between an increased bottom line and booming growth," Kenton said.
"Now that we have dedicated, highly-trained personnel based in Canada, travel suppliers and agents throughout the country can get the in-person service they need to take their business to the next level."
