Travel vacancies up in September
The number of new job opportunities in the travel industry is up to a four-month high, according to the latest figures from C&M Travel Recruitment and C&M Executive Recruitment.
There was a strong rebound in new travel job vacancies following the end of the summer holidays, with September’s total increasing by 65% from August.
The figure was the highest since May 2022 and was also up by 45% from September 2021.
There was also a rise in the number of new candidates searching for jobs in travel last month, by 12%.
Compared to pre-pandemic years, last month’s total was down 7% from September 2019.
The number of applicants being placed in new jobs in the travel industry dipped by 11% in September and fell back to its lowest level since February.
Despite this, last month’s figure was up by 32% from the same month last year.
Barbara Kolosinska, Managing Director at C&M Travel Recruitment and C&M Executive Recruitment, said: “It was another very positive month for travel recruitment, with new candidates, vacancies and job placements all above their historical averages.”
“In particular, recent months have seen a huge increase in both vacancies and placements in the business travel sector, and we expect experienced business travel consultants to continue to be in extremely high demand.”
