TripAdvisor appoints chief growth officer and Asia president

TripAdvisor has named Gary Fritz as chief growth officer and president, Asia Pacific.

Fritz is tasked with driving growth and overall strategy across all TripAdvisor brands and will lead all operations in the Asia Pacific region.
Fritz previously founded advisory group Amanogawa, LLC which worked with major brands including TripAdvisor on global strategy and expansion.
Other clients included Japanese e-commerce giant Rakuten.
He also held a variety of leadership roles at Expedia Inc including president of its partner services group from 2008 to 2012.
"Gary’s mandate to drive growth within the region, and corporate strategy within our entire group of TripAdvisor media brands, will help further solidify our leadership position as the world’s largest travel site helping travelers plan and book the perfect trip," said Stephen Kaufer, TripAdvisor president and CEO.
Fritz has a Master’s degree from MIT and a BA from University of Pennsylvania.
"TripAdvisor and its brands have an incredible platform for growth. I am excited to partner with Steve and the rest of the team to complete our transition into a booking site, as well as being on the hunt for additional business lines. This is a great time to be joining TripAdvisor," Fritz said.
