UK operator puts Tibet tours back on sale
Specialist China operator Wendy Wu Tours has resumed sales of tours which include Tibet.
The move comes following Tibet being reopened to foreign tourists after more than three months being closed to overseas visitors.
The China Tibet Tourism Bureau confirmed last month that visitors will again be allowed to travel to the ‘Roof of the World’.
Wendy Wu Tours managing director Laurence Hicks said: “Tibet is one of the most beautiful and fascinating places on the planet, and we are pleased that we can once again offer the chance for our customers to experience this wonderful ‘forbidden’ land.â€
The company runs a 24-day ‘Tibetan Dreams’ itinerary which includes a four wheeled drive across the Tibetan Plateau, overnight stays in local guest houses, Tibet’s capital city, Lhasa, home to the sacred Jokhang Temple and the towns of Gyantse and Shigatse.
Prices start at £2,690 per person including international flights, departure taxes, fuel surcharges, accommodation, meals, entrance fees, guides and daily tours. Visa fees for UK passport holders are included.
