United Airlines gets tough with unvaccinated workers
United Airlines is cracking down on vaccine-hesitant employees. Anyone claiming a religious exemption will be put on voluntary unpaid leave while those with a medical exemption will go on temporary medical leave, United said.
All other staff must have received their first Covid-19 shot by 27 September or they could be fired. The airline announced last month that all US employees are required to be fully vaccinated by the end of October. It was the first major airline to mandate vaccinations for existing employees.
