United Airlines plans to buy 100 electric planes
United Airlines announced a plan to buy 100 electric powered planes as part of a strategic investment in startup Heart Aerospace. Along with Breakthrough Energy Ventures and Mesa Airlines United has made an investment in the company and plans to buy 100 ES-19 aircraft.
It is a 19-seat electric aircraft with a flying range of up to 250 miles. United said the aircraft could potentially serve about 100 of its regional routes out of many of its hubs.
