United Airlines is expanding its Newark network with the return of four domestic routes beginning September 24, 2026, restoring links to destinations that have been absent from the carrier’s schedule for several years.
The airline has reopened reservations for the services, which will connect Newark Liberty International Airport with Charlottesville, Virginia; Fayetteville, Arkansas; Knoxville, Tennessee; and Omaha, Nebraska.
The most notable addition is Newark–Charlottesville, which will operate once daily aboard a 50-seat CRJ550 regional jet flown by GoJet Airlines. The route marks United’s return to the market for the first time in nearly three decades, with the last scheduled service dating back to Continental Airlines’ summer 1997 timetable.
United will also reinstate daily service between Newark and Fayetteville/Northwest Arkansas using Republic Airways-operated Embraer E175 aircraft. The route was last served in February 2022 and supports business and leisure travel to one of the fastest-growing regions in the southern U.S.
Knoxville returns to the network with twice-daily CRJ550 flights operated by GoJet. United last served the Tennessee city in 2020 before suspending the route during the pandemic-era network restructuring.
Meanwhile, daily Embraer E175 service to Omaha will also resume after a six-year absence. The Nebraska route was last operated on a regular basis in 2020.
The route restorations further strengthen United’s Newark hub, adding capacity to underserved regional markets while improving connectivity across the airline’s domestic network. The renewed services also provide additional one-stop access for international travelers connecting through Newark to United’s transatlantic and global route network.
