Vaccine rollout fuels a spike in travel planning
The vaccine rollout across America is bringing more hope to travelers that they can get away on vacation this year.
Longwoods International has been tracking traveler sentiment during the pandemic and says 81% now plan to travel in the next six months, which is at the highest level since the pandemic began.
It represents an increase of 16% since mid-January.
It also found travelers who say Covid-19 is greatly impacting their decision to travel has declined to a pandemic-era low of 40%.
"The arrival of multiple coronavirus vaccines has reignited travel planning in the U.S. The travel industry recovery appears poised to track in synch with the success of the mass vaccination program now underway across America," said Amir Eylon, President and CEO of Longwoods International.
The survey, supported by Miles Partnership, was conducted on 3 February, 2021 comprising a consumer panel of 1,000 adults.
Longwoods says more than a third of travelers do not plan to travel until they are vaccinated, based on survey results.
One-fifth of travelers have no plans to travel until a majority of Americans have been vaccinated.
