Vietnam plans to reopen select tourist destinations in December
Vietnam, which plans a full nationwide reopening of tourism next year, will open select destinations to foreign tourists in December.
It includes the east coast destinations of Hoi An, Nha Trang and UNESCO world heritage site Halong Bay. Access would be restricted to travellers from low risk countries, the government said.
The government had already earmarked the island of Phu Quoc as the test bed for reopening to tourism but Phu Quoc’s planned October reopening has been pushed back to at least November 2021 due to sluggish vaccination rates.
