The High Court has granted an injunction to Virgin Atlantic, which was seeking to stop Christmas walkouts by some of its pilots.
Mr Justice Choudhury granted the order on Thursday against the Professional Pilots Union (PPU), which was due to launch a series of walkouts starting on Saturday.
The judge said: "This is a clear case, in my judgment, where the balance of convenience lies in the injunction being granted."
The PPU is not recognised by Virgin. Its members voted earlier this month to walk out in a bid to demand recognition as well as better pay and conditions.
