Online hotel booking site wotif.com says it is waiving the usual cancellation fee for any customers who are affected by the ash cloud which has disrupted flights across Australia and New Zealand.

A spokeswoman for Wotif said cancellation policies are set by individual hotels and can vary.

“Our customer service team is working closely with all hotels to get the best possible outcome for our customers, depending on their situation,” she said.

Wotif said it is “receiving a higher than usual amount of calls at our call centre so we’re asking any customers who want to cancel a booking, or who have an enquiry which is not urgent, to email [email protected].
