2,000 hotels added to Galileo ‘Best Available Rate’
Seven hotel organisations have bee added to Galileo International’s Best Available Rate scheme.
This gives a total of 84 guaranteeing lowest rates through the GDS.
The new signings are Abba Hotels, Great Hotels Organisation, Hotusa Hotels, Keytel, Maritim Hotels, Millennium & Copthorne Hotels and Supranational Hotels
The additions increase the inventory in the Galileo programme by more than 2,000 properties.
Jane Lewis, director of hospitality for Galileo parent Cendant Travel Distribution Services, said:”Our Best Available Rate programme provides travel agents with the reassurance that the rate they see is the best available. This addresses the inconsistency of hotel rates across distribution channels and allows our travel agents to save time by only needing to search in one place.
“We are continuing to add more content to our BAR offering, enabling us to be in a position of clear leadership while our competitors are just getting off the ground.”
Properties participating in BAR are now identified with an exclamation mark in the display screen making it easy for agents to identify hotels.
In addition to these most recent additions to the BAR programme, Galileo also has contractual agreements with chains such as Meritus; Shangri-La and Oberoi Hotels; Accor; InterContinental Hotel Group; Raffles/Swisshotel Hotels; Stamford Hotels; Mandarin Oriental and Pacific International; World Hotels; Marriott International; Hyatt Hotels & Resorts; Hilton International; Outrigger Hotels & Resorts; Kimpton Hotels; Carlson Hospitality; Omni Hotels; Minto Place Hotels; Destinations, West Coast & Red Lion Hotels; Best Western; and Kempinski Hotels & Resorts.
