Home to show stopping international arenas, Las Vegas sport takes center stage this year.

Even more excitement is coming in 2023. From basketball championships and NFL Raiders games to the Formula 1 race, there is no limit to the big ticket sporting action this year.

 

Formula 1

The most anticipated Grand Prix in motorsports history is set to take place in Las Vegas on 18 November 2023. For the first time in over 40 years, a Formula 1 Grand Prix is taking place along the  Las Vegas Strip. The night race will pass some of the world’s most iconic landmarks, hotels and casinos. The newest addition to the Formula 1 calendar will comprise of three straights, two DRS zones and a total of 17 corners, and will see drivers reach an estimated top speed of 342 km/h (212 mph): f1lasvegasgp.com 

 

Tennis icon Rafael Nadal against world no1 Carlos Alcaraz

Holding a record 22 grand slam titles, with two wins in 2022, Rafael Nadal is one of the greatest tennis players of all time. On 5 March 2023 he will take on the young prodigy and world number two, Carlos Alcaraz, at MGM Grand Garden Arena Las Vegas. The 19 year old Spaniard made history by becoming the youngest men’s number one after winning his first grand slam at the US Open in September 2022. mgmgrand.mgmresorts.com

 

Jon Jones’ against Cyril Gane for the heavyweight championship title at UFC 285

Back at the T-Mobile Arena Las Vegas, after a three year gap, the much anticipated return of Jon Jones takes place at the UFC 285 event on 4 March 2023. Other main card fights include, Araujo vs. Rubas (women’s flyweight), Brunson vs Plessis (middleweight) and preliminary fights such as Garbrandt vs Arce (bantamweight) and Penne vs Ricci (women’s strawweight). ufc.com 

 

Nascar at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

Experience one of the most exhilarating spectator sports in the US at the Spring Nascar Weekend on 3 – 5 March 2023. Taking place at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway is the Nascar Xfinity series race, the Victoria’s Voice Foundation 200 and the Pennzoil 400 Nascar cup series racelvms.com 

 

Super Bowl LVIII at the Allegiant stadium in 2024

Though 2023 has only just begun, preparations are already being made for the 2024 Super Bowl. On 11 February 2024 at the Allegiant Stadium, America’s most viewed sporting event will be played for the first time ever in Las Vegas.
