ABTA is asking members to give details of any problems they have encountered while trying to make return travel arrangements for clients.
In a message to members, ABTA said: "ABTA have been contacted by a number of ABTA members who are experiencing difficulties in making return travel arrangements for their customers, due to country restrictions and airline cancellations, as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"In order for ABTA to assess the scale of the issue, for discussion with Government, we are asking all members who have customers that are still in destination to provide us with information regarding those customers."
Details need to include country name, departure airport, number of passengers and issues encountered.
ABTA added: "Please be aware that we have no indication that the UK government is intending to arrange repatriation rescue flights, so it is critical that you continue your efforts to make alternative arrangements for your customers."
