ABTA seeks candidates for new president
ABTA is looking for candidates for a new president to take the helm from the end of next month.
Current president Justin Fleming is to step down after a three-year term following the association’s AGM on April 29.
Candidates for president must be proposed and seconded by current members of the ABTA board.
Noel Josephides (Sunvil Holidays) has been re-elected on to the board in the category of principal with annual turnover below £50 million.
Three nominations will battle it out for a place on the board in the retail category.
The nominations are existing board member Daniele Broccoli (Britaly Travel), Doreen McKenzie (Knock Travel) and Sandy Murray (Sandy Travel).
Ballot papers will be sent out to members in the retail category next week and the closing date for votes is April 15.
Bridget Keevil (Travel Stop), Roddie MacPhee (Stewart Travel Centre), Heather Fielding (Gallagher Travel) and David Powell (Holidays Your Way) have been re-elected on to the ABTA Council of Regions.
Sandy Murray was elected but two vacancies remain in the Southern and South Western regions.
Chief executive Mark Tanzer said: “I’m pleased to see the continuing representation of all sectors and areas in the country. This demonstrates democracy in action and that ABTA truly is an association for our members.”
