Accor’s Tigers complete charity run
Four teams of Accor cyclists, the SIM Tigers, have completed the 375kms Siam to Siem charity cycle ride to raise funds for the Ecole d’ Hotellerie et de Tourisme Paul Dubrule.
And now they want your help to raise funds for the school that supports young Cambodians.
Ten years ago, Paul Dubrule, the co-founder of Accor, spent eight months crossing over 15,200kms from Paris to Angkor to initiate his personal project, Ecole d’ Hotellerie et de Tourisme Paul Dubrule in Siem Reap.
The school was established to help give young Cambodians the training and qualifications necessary to contribute towards sustainable tourism in Cambodia.
After pedaling from Bangkok to Siem Reap, through various terrains, roughing it out on hard floors and rising early every morning, the four teams of cyclists successfully completed the course, raising AUD33,781 collectively for the non-profit school.
"But, even as the journey ends in triumph, the giving should not stop. If you missed the race and would still like to give to this great cause, please drop us a note," said Pierre-Etienne de Montgrand, general manager, Ibis Singapore Bencoolen, one of the riders.
The auction of holidays for funds is ongoing until all packages are sold for charity.
