Irish carrier Aer Lingus is mulling a new service linking the Emerald Isle with Sin City.
Aer Lingus CEO Stephen Kavanagh says if confirmed Dublin-Las Vegas flights would initially operate seasonally during winter two or three times a week.
"We are working to build a business case to operate a seasonal service to Las Vegas,~’ he told Irish media.
"We need to find a balance to the peak summer months, where the US consumer the main source of our traffic and where Ireland is the destination."
Kavanagh beleives there is demand for the service and additionally hopes to position Dublin as a preferred European hub for transatlantic travel.
It is also an attractive proposition for the local market.
"’We’ve a lot of issues to put to bed, not least the cost of the operation, but we think there’s demand there. We can see from our own traffic data that for the Irish consumer Las Vegas is very attractive."
