Air France-KLM makes assurances to Alitalia unions
Air France-KLM chairman tried to reassure unions at a meeting yesterday that Alitalia workers will not be ‘abandoned’.
Jean-Cyril Spinetta outlined his commitment to save the loss-making airline and urged unions to support the move.
A statement from Air France-KLM today said Spinetta also underlined that social consequences of the industrial plan for Alitalia would be dealt in such a way that “no worker will be abandoned and that an appropriate solution would be designed for each of the 2100 employees concerned by the plan”.
He hopes to come to an agreement with trade unions by Friday (March 28), before starting specific discussions with Alitalia employees.
