Air France to cancel London-LA flights

Thursday, 9 October 20083 min read

Air France is cancelling its London Heathrow to Los Angeles flights for this winter due to the “present economic and financial crisis”.

The airline has not yet confirmed the date, but says flights will cease sometime in November.

It claims the move will free up aircraft and slots so it can operate from Heathrow to New York JFK for summer 2009, starting some time in June.

Until then, the aircraft will be reployed elsewhere in the Air France network.

Air France’s Skyteam partner Delta already operates two daily flights from Heathrow to JFK, offering Economy and Business Class.

With Air France, SkyTeam passengers will be able to fly Heathrow to New York in First Class too.
