Airbnb acquiring extended stay platform Urbandoor
Airbnb hopes to bolster its business travel offering with the acquisition of extended stay platform Urbandoor.
Established three years ago, Urbandoor focuses on business travelers and works mostly with apartment block owners rather than individual renters.
Urbandoor lists properties in about 1,500 cities in 60 countries.
"We wanted to connect traveling and relocating professionals with the right apartment every time, anywhere. Joining the Airbnb family will help us make good on our goals," said Urbandoor cofounder Erik Eccles.
The entire Urbandoor team will move over to Airbnb for Work although there is no immediate plans to ditch the Urbandoor name.
Airbnb claims it has 500,000 companies using Airbnb for Work to plan their business travel.
