Airbnb removes dozens of suspected neo-Nazi users from site

Home sharing giant Airbnb has booted more than 60 purported white supremacists from its platform.

Their identities were published after the now closed neo-Nazi forum Iron March was hacked.

Airbnb said it searched its identity verification system and found more than 60 were Airbnb users.

All seem to be guests rather than Airbnb hosts.

"This was a no-brainer – when we see people on our platform pursuing behavior antithetical to our Community Commitment, we take action to prioritize the safety of our community," an Airbnb spokesperson said.

"Through our trust and safety systems, we are continuously seeking to proactively identify those who could put our hosts and guests at risk."

It is not the first time the company has taken such action.

It banned attendees of the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville in 2017, which turned violent and led to one death.

It also banned users heading to a white nationalist conference in Tennessee earlier this year.
