Airbus could lose an order for 10 ‘super jumbos’ following the cancellation by Hong Kong Airlines of its loss-making all-business class flights from London, said the Financial Times.
It said the airline was considering swapping the order for A380s for the smaller A330 and A320s.
Hong Kong Airlines announced earlier this month that it was axing its London to Hong Kong flights from September 10 to focus on short-haul routes. The service had been operating for just six months.
President Yang Jianhong said the airline’s plan now was to add A330 and A320 aircraft to its fleet, and not the A380, which is the world’s largest aircraft.
